Interested in submitting your writing to us? Excellent – we cannot wait to read your work! Before you do, please make sure you read the following.

What type of writing are we looking for?

We welcome short stories (up to 1000 words), drabble (100 words exactly), and poetry (all forms). Please submit up to 3 poems, or 1 short story, per time. Bulk submissions will prolong our reviewing time.

Have a look at our previous issues to see if your writing is the sort of thing we are looking for. We do not accept all submissions, but we are always happy to consider new work.

We also welcome articles, but only if they are specifically about the craft of Creative Writing, or linked in some way.

We prefer unpublished work – if you are submitting work that has been published you must check that this is within the guidelines of the original and subsequent publishers. This is your responsibility as the author.

You must be the rightful author of the work you submit – absolutely no plagiarising please.

Please do not send us simultaneous submissions if the other places you’re submitting to don’t allow simultaneous publishing of the same work. It is your responsibility to check this.

You own all the rights – we’re a platform for writers and will share your work on this website and our social media only.

We’ll get back to you as soon as possible, but if we haven’t responded within two months, please assume that on this occasion you have been unsuccessful.

What else should you include in your submission?

Please include a short third person author bio (up to 60 words). In this you can talk about your writing experience, why you write, and feel free to include your social media/website info.

Things to bear in mind:

Please make sure your writing is edited, and free of spelling and grammar errors.

Add your submission into the body of your email. Attachments will not be opened.

If you are not successful, please don’t take it to heart. Your work may be perfect for someone else, it’s just not what we’re looking for at this particular time. I’m afraid we can’t go into detail or provide feedback on your writing.

Do include a short cover letter saying ‘hello’, and why you are submitting.

We do not, and cannot, currently pay for writing. By submitting, you are confirming that you are aware of this.

We do not accept any type of hate speech at all.

By submitting your work, you are acknowledging and giving us permission to share it on this website and promote it on our social media pages.

Please be aware that if it is clear to us that the above has not been read, we are unlikely to respond (for example, work submitted as an attachment). This is due to time constraints.

And Finally…

Email your submission to: TheRaconteurReview@Gmail.com

We’ll be in touch as soon as possible! Thank you for your submission.
